First, a very good point was made in the arguments.
I should have contacted the artist directly first and then if a resolution wasn't found, made it public for help.
So for that, I do feel I have to apologize. This is my first time dealing with any kind of real Art/Concept theft or whatever, and I was basically just doing what I've seen people in the past do.
Secondly, yes, the conflict has been resolved. I've decided benefit of the doubt is the right way to go in this particular case. The characters did look pretty much exactly alike, but I'm thinking maybe it was a subconcious thing, like she'd seen it before and had forgotten she'd seen it because that has happened to me before.
Thirdly, for anyone that's worried, no, I am not going to go on people's deviant art accounts to flame them. I'm just gonna chill right here.
Overall, I'm sorry this got really out of hand. I do wish that more civility was present, such as less baseless name calling, ageism, ableism, etc, going on.
But uh yeah.
So that's now over with.
So uhm anyone reading this that is hip on the drama, just know its resolved and there's no need for like going over to anyones da's for flaming on my behalf or anything.
I'm glad your cool with the final resolution.
I really hope that it was just an accident. I really do.
Thanks for the words of support.
But at least its over and done.
